Jasper Neggers, PhD
Postdoctoral Researcher

Picture
Jasper was born and raised in Breda, a city in the South of The Netherlands, close to the Belgian border. During his graduate thesis, he developed an interest in the workings of the cellular Exportin-1 protein within the context of HIV infection and cancer. He then started his Ph.D. training under guidance of Prof. Dr. Ir. Dirk Daelemans at the Rega Institute for Medical Research, also at the KU Leuven. He applied and developed genetic engineering technologies to study the anticancer potency and mechanism of action of small molecule anticancer agents in early drug development. After his Ph.D. training, Jasper transitioned to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston under the guidance of Andrew Aguirre, M.D., Ph.D. In his spare time, Jasper enjoys cinema, history, music and board games.
