Ji-Won is a medical oncologist and an Associate Professor at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital, South Korea. He joined Dr. Andrew Aguirre's Lab as a Visiting Scientist for his sabbatical to collaborate with world-renowned researchers. His research interests include translational research using genomic techniques and early-phase clinical trials in GI and H&N cancers.
He graduated from Seoul National University College of Medicine in 2005. After completing an internal medicine residency at Seoul National University Hospital in 2010, he received a Scholar-in-Training Award at AACR 2013 in the last month of military service. Then, he started his clinical fellowship at Seoul National University Hospital. In 2015, he joined the GI oncology team as an Assistant Professor at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital. In 2021, he obtained his PhD and became an Associate Professor at Seoul National University. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, biking, and skiing with his wife and two daughters.
