Junning joined the Aguirre lab in 2018 with many years of experience in academic and industry research, as well as a clinical background as a gastroenterologist. Her work involves the processing of clinical specimens for establishment and characterization of patient-derived pancreatic cancer organoids. She also performs drug sensitivity testing on organoid models to find novel and effective treatments for pancreatic cancer. She hopes that her studies will guide precision medicine for pancreatic cancer treatment and eventually benefit all patients with pancreatic cancer.
